15 injured in Faridpur clash
Fifteen people were injured, four of them seriously, when two groups were locked in a clash yesterday morning at village Charbalashia of Sadarpur upazila in the district.
The clash ensued when two groups one led by Malek Molla and the another led by Jamir Bepary claimed ownership of an abandoned sunken trawler at Khalashikandi in the river Arial Khan, Sadarpur police said.
The trawler capsized in the river during the last flood. None of the feuding parties were real owner of the trawler. They with deadly country-made weapons clashed to establish ownership of the trawler, police said. Fifteen people were injured in the clash.
Police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
Seriously injured Suruj, 35, Ilias, 32, Malek Molla, 60, and Masud, 30, were admitted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital and the rest 11 to Sadarpur Upazila Hospital.
