Myanmar eager to take back citizens from Bangladesh

Newly appointed ambassador of Myanmar U Thane Myint said this while he was presenting his credentials to President Iajuddin Ahmed at Bangabhaban yesterday.
Welcoming the ambassador, President Iajuddin pointed out the matter of repatriation of rest of the Myanmar refugees and hoped that the Myanmar government would "understand the urgency" of the situation.
"There exists excellent bilateral relation between Bangladesh and Myanmar," he said.
Referring to the recent visit of the Chairman, SPDC, and Prime Minister of Myanmar to Bangladesh and of Bangladesh Prime Minister to Yangon, president said both the visits had further consolidated the friendly relations between the two countries.He stressed the need for increasing volume of trade and more cooperation in the field of education and hoped that the proposed road-link between Bangladesh and Myanmar would ensure a better cooperation.
The newly appointed envoy, U Thane Myint, expressed his satisfaction at the existing friendly bilateral relations and hoped that the friendly ties existing between the two countries, particularly economic cooperation, would be diversified in future.
Earlier, on his arrival at Bangabhaban, the ambassador was given a guard of honour by the President's Guard Regiment.
