BNP accuses AL of "planned killings" of BNP men in Bagerhat

BNP Secretary General and LGRD Minister Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan condemned "planned killing" of his partymen in Bagerhat district and asked for immediate arrest of the killers.

In a statement yesterday, he said criminal attacks had been unleashed on the BNP leaders and workers in the frontier district since the period of previous Awami League government.

"The Awami League, being rejected by the people of Bagerhat at the last election, is killing the BNP leaders and workers by hiring listed criminals," the ruling party leader said.

Citing instances Bhuiyan said Mongla poura BNP Joint Secretary Abdul Halim Talukdar and Mollikber UP General Secretary Shahidul Alam Talukdar were killed recently.

Earlier, district BNP Vice President Abdul Awal, Morelganj thana Vice President Rashid Khan, Gouramoba union General Secretary M Aslad and Baintala UP chairman Habib Sardar were also killed by the criminals.
