Eden's JCD leader expelled

The Eden College authorities yesterday expelled a Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) leader of the college unit from hall for assaulting two students of Hasna Begum Hall on September 7.

JCD leader Nasima Akhter Keya beat up Farzana Akther Ruma, a second-year student of the political science department, and Shenjuti, a third-year student of the sociology department, after they refused to admit two more students to their seats in the hall.

Principal Dilara Hafiz told this correspondent that the investigation committee, hostel committee, academic council and staff council comprising all teachers of the college found Keya guilty and expelled her from the hall permanently. Keya had earlier been served with a show-cause notice, but failed to give a satisfactory reply, she said.
