Khulna BNP leader terms govt 'illegal'

The senior vice-president of city BNP has termed the four-party coalition government illegal and unconstitutional.

Abdul Gaffar Biswas, also the president of Khulna district unit of Motor-Bus Malik Samity, made the remark at a press conference yesterday morning in support of the indefinite strike from August 2, called to press home their eight-point demand.

Gaffar also made some insolent remarks about the government. However, stunned by his unbecoming remarks, some leaders of the Khulna Motor-Bus Malik Samity left the press conference as a mark of protest.

Labour Director Md Shamsur Rahman Khan, in a letter dated August 14, had declared the strike illegal and asked the Samity to call it off.
