Befitting for eve-teasers
Two activists of the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) were roughed up and their motorbike was set on fire by angry medical students for harassing female students in front of a women medical students' dormitory here Friday night.
Police arrested the two, Badal, 26, and Prince, 27, identified as students of BM College and cadres of the JCD, from the spot at 1:30am.
Sources said a group of JCD cadres gathered in front of the female students' dormitory for some time and teased its residents. But when they came back again on Friday night, medical students from a nearby dormitory chased them, caught Badal and Prince and beat them up. Their motorbike was also set on fire, witnesses said.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. Medical student leader Golam Mustafa Ali said the JCD cadres, claiming themselves to be followers of Mashiul Alam Sentu, came twice on Friday night in microbus and motorbikes.
Sentu however said he himself went to the trouble spot and handed over the two unruly cadres to the police.
