Jalil condemns attack on AL leaders' houses
Awami League General Secretary Abdul Jalil yesterday condemned the attack on the residences of its Presidium Member Amir Hossain Amu and Jhalkathi district unit leader Shahjahan Ashraf allegedly by the activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal and Jubo Dal, front organisations of the ruling BNP.
In a statement, Jalil said being patronised by the highest quarter of the government, activists of BNP and its front organisations have been persecuting the AL leaders and workers across the country since the assumption of power in October 2001.
He said the present regime is trying to eliminate the main opposition through systematic persecution.
