Pro-govt rallies on July 6 against AL 'anarchy'

In Dhaka city, the ruling alliance will hold a rally at Muktangon at 4:00 pm. Alliance leaders will address the rally.
The decision was taken at a meeting of frontline leaders of the alliance representing the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Jamaat-e-Islami, Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) and Islami Oikya Jote (IOJ) yesterday.
Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, chairperson of the BNP, chaired the two-hour meeting at her office.
Acting Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Moulana Abul Kalam Mohammad Yusuf, BJP Chairman Naziur Rahman Manjur, IOJ chief Shaikhul Hadit Azizul Huq, BNP Secretary General and LGRD Minister Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan, Jamaat Secretary General and Social Welfare Minister Ali Ahsan Muhammad Mujahid, Jatiya Party Secretary General Kazi Firoz Rashid, IOJ leader Mufti Fazlul Huq Aminee, BNP Standing Committee member and Health Minister Dr Khondokar Mosharraf Hossain and BNP Vice-Chairman and Land Minister M Shamsul Islam were present.
Mannan Bhuiyan told reporters that the meeting observed that a conspiracy was on to create chaos in the country. The alliance decided to organise countrywide rally and procession to counter violence, chaos and destructive activities.
