Attack on Mujib is part of govt blueprint to eliminate AL: Hasina
Awami League President and Leader of the Opposition in Parliament Sheikh Hasina yesterday came down heavily on the government in connection with the attack on the party's Comilla district organising secretary advocate Mujibul Haq Mujib.
In a statement, she strongly condemned and protested the attack on advocate Mujib, a former Whip of the Jatiya Sangsad.
Mujib was critically injured in an armed attack in Comilla on Monday midnight.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. Hasina alleged that the BNP-Jamaat alliance government was now engaged in a "heinous conspiracy" to destroy the Awami League through killing its popular leaders. The attack on Mujib was part of that "blueprint," she said.
"The days are numbered when the people of Bangladesh will ensure the fall of the anti-independence and anti-people BNP-Jamaat alliance government," she said in the statement.
