Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today said Bangladesh government will supply electricity in 12 temporary Rohingya camps in Cox's Bazar by installing solar panels.

"As per the prime minister's [Sheikh Hasina's] directive, some solar panels will be set up in the 12 makeshift Rohingya camps of Cox's Bazar to meet up their demand for electricity," he said.

Quader, also road transport and bridges minister, disclosed the government initiative while talking to reporters during his visit to unregistered Rohingya refugee camp at Leda of Teknaf this afternoon, reports Bangla daily Prothom Alo.

Regarding the visit of a Myanmar delegation led by one of its ministers, Quader said, "We expect that the minister will take measures to take all the Rohingya people back in Myanmar from Bangladesh."

The minister also called upon China and Russia to stand by Bangladesh like neighbouring India in the Rohingya issue.
