Woman burnt to death in Pirojpur

A 38-year-old school teacher was burnt to death as a fire broke out at her house in East Vandaria village in Vandaria upazila of Pirojpur district early today.

The deceased was Mahfuza Akhter, daughter of Wahab Mia and a teacher of Khan Shaheb Abdul Majid Jomaddar Kindergarten School, said our Pirojour correspondent, quoting Vandaria Fire Service and Civil Defence Station's Officer Md Faruk Hossain Hawlader.

Faruk said the fire originated at the wooden house from an electric short circuit at around 3:00am.

All other family members were able to come out from house, but Mahfuza could not, the official added.

On information, fire fighters rushed to the spot and doused the fire.
