This refers to your front page report, “Vermicelli, flour tainted with formalin” (Sept.25). It is better to buy wheat and chana dal and give to the flour mill to get the required flour. Not only flour, even fruits like pineapple, guava, banana and mangoes are artificially ripened. Visit any supermarket and more than 50 per cent of the products displayed on shelves is harmful. For example, pickles, tomato ketchup, jam among others, which contain high quantity of salt and artificial flavours, are not good for health.
