What about those who can't have egg?
What about those who can't have egg?
10th October was the World Egg Day which was celebrated in many countries of the world. But this day appeared rather purposeless to this writer. In our country most people cannot afford to have an egg once a day. The minimum retail price of egg in urban areas is eight taka apiece. So it needs at least two hundred and forty taka a month for each person of a household for having egg. How many of the low income urban people, who draw wages of around Tk.5000 per month, can afford to have one egg daily? So forget about eggs!
