Pedestrian dies after being hit by DSCC garbage truck in Jatrabari

A man was killed after being hit by a garbage truck of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) while crossing the road in Dhaka's Jatrabari last night.

The deceased was identified as Iqbal Hossain, 35.

He died on the spot after being hit by the truck at Kalapatti area around 10:00pm, police and hospital sources said.

His body was sent to the morgue of Dhaka Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.

Iqbal, from Barishal, lived in the Dhalpur area of Jatrbari and worked at a laundromat.

Police seized the truck and are investigating the incident.

Police said the truck was being driven by the driver's assistant, who has been arrested.
