Jashore town Jubo Dal member secretary says accused may have been 'trapped' in a conspiracy

Police have detained a local Jubo Dal leader along with seven homemade crude bombs, three petrol bombs, and several sharp weapons in Jashore's Raypara area today.

The arrestee was identified as Masud Rana, 35, from Bordakanta Road in Raypara, who also serves as the general secretary of Ward-6 unit of Jubo Dal.

Kazi Babul Hossain, investigation inspector at Jashore Kotwali Model Police Station, said they conducted a raid at Rana's house early in the morning, acting on a tip-off. During the operation, Rana was detained. Based on information given by Rana, the police later recovered seven crude bombs, three petrol bombs, a dagger, and several sharp weapons from behind his kitchen.

A case was filed in this connection, and he was to be produced before the court this afternoon, the officer added.

Jashore town Jubo Dal member secretary Sheikh Robiul Islam Rabi said, "He has been involved in politics for a long time. Someone may have trapped him through a conspiracy," he alleged.

"Even then, we are looking into the matter. Jubo Dal does not patronise criminals. The party will not take responsibility for an individual's wrongdoing," he added.
