BRAC engineering school renamed to BSRM School of Engineering

The engineering school of BRAC University will be renamed to BSRM School of Engineering, as per a new joint venture by BRAC University and BSRM, the local steel manufacturing company. 

The decision was made during an event that hosted engineering faculty, students and alumni from BRAC University, alongside representatives from BSRM Group of Companies.

According to a press release, the renaming was done to recognise BSRM Group's contribution towards funding advanced research and critical academic initiatives. 

The BSRM School of Engineering will recruit world-class faculty over the next several years to lead the department, further states the press release. The renamed school will also provide funding for cutting-edge research in key areas to promote curriculum innovation in students.

BSRM has stated that they will be providing a number of merit-based scholarships to BRAC University as well, which includes five full-tuition awards for engineering students.
