Four years after creating a nationwide and international buzz with "Hawa", director Mejbaur Rahman Sumon is set to return with his new full-length feature film "Roid", which has now secured its release window for Eid-ul-Azha.

Three Bangladeshi films—“Delupi”, “Roid” and “Master”—have been selected across three sections of the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) this year, marking the first time three local productions have featured together at a major international festival. The festival will be held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, from January 29 to February 8, 2026.

When the trailer of Mejbaur Rahman Sumon’s “Roid” dropped, audiences witnessed a side of Nazifa Tushi they had never seen before. Messy, raw, and almost unrecognisable, she fully immerses herself in a character that doesn’t even have a name. Her transformation has left fans buzzing on social media, praising her new look.

Recently, the list of selected films for Film Bazaar was revealed, featuring 21 projects from seven countries. Among the chosen scripts is a project from the renowned Indian producer of “Baahubali,” and more significantly, two Bangladeshi films have also made the cut — “Roid” and “Divine Chords.”

Director Mejbaur Rahman Sumon, known for his success with “Hawa,” is now preparing for his next project titled “Roid,” featuring Nazifa Tushi and Mostafizur Noor Imran in lead roles.
