Schoolboy electrocuted while hoisting Argentina's flag in Tangail
A schoolboy died from electrocution while he was hoisting the flag of his favorite football team Argentina in Tangail's Sakhipur upazila this evening.
The deceased, Tanvir Hossain Tonmoy, 13, son of Sohel Rana of the upazila upazila, was a Class VII student of local Pilot Model Govt High School, reports our Tangail correspondent.
Quoting witnesses, Rezaul Karim, officer-in-charge of Sakhipur Police Station, said that football lover Tonmoy was hoisting a Argentina flag on the roof of a five-story house around 6:00pm.
He, however, was electrocuted when the green bamboo in his hand came in contact with the power line near the building.
Local people immediately rushed him to Sakhipur Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared him dead, he said.
