The teaser of Bollywood web series “Jazz City” has brought Arifin Shuvoo’s much-anticipated Bollywood debut into focus, confirming his first appearance in a central role in a mainstream Indian project. Released yesterday (December 16) evening, the teaser has drawn attention for positioning the Bangladeshi actor at the heart of the narrative.

Directed by Raihan Rafi, the romantic drama will bypass cinemas and debut directly on the OTT platform Bioscope Plus.

Arifin Shuvoo and Jannatul Ferdous Oishee starrer film “Noor”, which was first submitted to the then censor board in July 2022, is finally gearing up for release. The board initially withheld clearance over technical issues, prompting a revision and re-submission. It eventually received approval at the end of that year. Nearly three years on, the long-pending film is now set for an OTT release.

SonyLIV has released a teaser of its upcoming slate for the year, offering the first look at Arifin Shuvoo in Soumik Sen’s much-anticipated series “Jazz City”.

The festival, scheduled to run from August 1 to 3, will take place at the Angelika Film Center, offering three days of films, culture, and a fashion showcase.

Known for choosing diverse roles, Shuvoo explained, “Films come in all forms. I’ve always tried to explore different dimensions through different stories. That’s why I joined ‘NeelChokro’. If every film was like ‘Mission Extreme’, ‘Dhaka Attack’ or ‘Chuye Dile Mon’, you’d be bored. This one is a different kind of story.”

This Eid, moviegoers are turning out in large numbers to see their favourite stars on the big screen, with six films currently showing in cinemas nationwide. Leading the pack in audience draw is Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan, whose film “Taandob” seems to be attracting the most attention.

In a musical crossover, popular rapper Jalali Shafayat and renowned singer-composer Balam have teamed up for a song for the upcoming Arifin Shuvoo-starrer “Neelchokro”, releasing this Eid-ul-Azha. The duo collaborated on “Ei Ondhokarer Shohore”, which not only features Shafayat’s vocals but also marks his acting debut in cinema.

Actor Arifin Shuvoo has returned to the spotlight by surprising fans with a 19-second teaser posted on his official Facebook page yesterday evening. Since announcing signing on “Neelchakra” last year, he had not posted anything about it. However, he captioned the teaser, declaring, “It’s coming,” and sparked widespread speculation and excitement.

The Bangladeshi film “Neelchokro” has been officially selected for the Foreign Language category at the 8th Golden State Film Festival 2025. The festival will take place in Los Angeles, USA, from February 14 to February 21.
