Shuvoo–Mim duo secretly filming new movie, reports say
Arifin Shuvoo is currently busy shooting for a new film, with Bidya Sinha Mim starring opposite him. The duo, last seen together in Golam Sohrab's thriller "Shapludu", are reuniting after four years. Despite the shoot progressing in full swing, the cast and crew have remained tight-lipped about the project, including director Saif Chandan.
This marks Chandan's seventh directorial venture. His last film, "Local", featured Ador Azad and Shobnom Bubly. For the first time, he is working with Shuvoo and Mim as a pair. Although the title has not been finalised, sources suggest it may be either "Malik" or "Shikar".
According to several unit sources, filming began earlier this month in the Paba area of Rajshahi and is now continuing at pace in Natore. The film is set within the action genre, and both lead actors will appear in a fresh, reimagined style. To prepare for their roles, Shuvoo and Mim reportedly underwent intensive fitness training and followed strict diets.
A reliable source also shared that Mim rehearsed for one and a half months, taking lessons in martial arts, body language, and action choreography. Shuvoo invested similar preparation time. With neither actor having had a release in recent months, both are said to be focusing on their work with renewed energy. Shuvoo's last film to hit theatres was "Neelchokro".
While Saif Chandan confirmed that he is directing the project, he declined to share details, saying, "I don't want to say anything right now. I'll reveal everything when the time is right."
The production aims for an Eid-ul-Fitr release. An item song is scheduled to be filmed abroad in December, after which the project will move into its final stages, with only patchwork and dubbing remaining.
Beyond this film, Arifin Shuvoo has several notable projects lined up. Raihan Rafi's "Noor", co-starring Jannatul Ferdous Oishee, awaits release. He has also completed work on Anam Biswas's "Thikana Bangladesh", opposite Nusraat Faria. On the international front, he has acted in the Hindi series "Jazz City".
Bidya Sinha Mim, meanwhile, has been occupied with brand photoshoots. She recently wrapped filming for "Digante Fuler Agun", directed by Wahid Tarek and produced by Shomi Kaiser, where she portrays Panna Kaiser, wife of writer Shahidullah Kaiser.
