State Minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque has ordered the withdrawal of officials responsible for Birshrestha Shaheed Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur after observing what he described as negligence in maintaining security and proper management at the venue.

The newly appointed sports state minister has asked federations to submit a consolidated report within a week outlining their activities over the past year, obstacles to holding elections, relations with district sports associations, annual calendars, and lists of national players.

“The government wants to emphasise sports at the grassroots by creating more open playgrounds so that children can play freely without obstacles,” he said.

Faruque acknowledged concerns about a possible ICC embargo but avoided firm predictions.
