On-fire Afridi dismisses Rohit, Kohli
Standing with his legs out of the line of the three stumps -- that's how India's Rohit Sharma had taken strike against Pakistan's Shaheen Shah Afridi in their Asia Cup encounter in Pallekele today.
With probably what had happened in Dubai two years back during the T20 World Cup still fresh in mind, it was a clear attempt from Rohit to avoid being trapped in front by Afridi -- who swings it back into the right-handers in the initial overs.
Afridi was getting the ball to nip back in, but Rohit seemed to have the upper hand for a while. Afridi missed his length a few times and was flicked on for boundaries by the Indian skipper.
However, after resumption following a brief break due to rain, Afridi found his length and got through the defenses of one of the best ODI batters. A quick fuller delivery that nipped back ever so slightly beat the inside edge of Rohit and crashed onto his stumps as Afridi once again got the better of the India skipper in white-ball cricket.
Afridi, pumped up after effecting such a dismissal, got the big fish in Virat Kohli in the very next over. Kohli dragged one back on his stumps, leaving India in a spot of bother at 28 for two inside seven overs.
