Star Sports Report

Bangladesh women's football team captain Sabina Khatun set a new landmark today, scoring 100 goals in domestic domestic club career during a Women's Football League match today.

The 27-year-old forward notched the landmark -- the first female player to do so in Bangladesh football -- during Bashundhara Kings' 5-0 win over Sadda Pushkuruni Club.

Having started the match with 98 goals, the veteran striker slotted a hattrick, taking her tally to 101. She scored these goals in four seasons only -- 25 in 2011, 28 in 2013, 35 in 2020 and 13 in the ongoing season.

She has also scored many more in national women's championship as well as during her overseas stints in Indian and Maldivian women's football leagues.

The striker from Satkhira was presented with a bouquet of flowers by the Bashundhara Kings team to celebrate the milestone.
