Ronaldo and Georgina tie the knot

Cristiano Ronaldo and his longtime partner Georgina Rodriguez have finally tied the knot, with the Portugal superstar and the Spanish-Argentine becoming husband and wife in a private civil ceremony in Portugal on Tuesday.

The couple announced the news through a joint Instagram post, sharing a picture of their hands adorned with matching gold wedding rings. The post, captioned “C <3 G”, quickly surpassed a million likes.

Ronaldo and Georgina exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony in Cascais, a coastal town around 20 miles west of Lisbon. The couple’s five children were reportedly in attendance.

“Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez were married today in a civil ceremony in Cascais, Portugal, and are now officially husband and wife,” a representative for Ronaldo told the Daily Mail.

“The ceremony was a private and intimate moment attended by their five children.”

The marriage marks the culmination of a relationship that began a decade ago. Ronaldo and Georgina first met at a Gucci shop in Madrid in 2016, where Georgina was working at the time. They went public with their relationship the following year.

The couple have since built a family together. Georgina is the biological mother of two of their children, Alana Martina and Bella Esmeralda, while Ronaldo’s eldest son, Cristiano Jr, and twins Mateo and Eva are also part of the family. The couple’s other twin, Angel, tragically died during childbirth in 2022.

Ronaldo proposed to Georgina in 2025, but the pair had kept their wedding plans largely private. Ronaldo had previously hinted that they would marry after the 2026 World Cup, even suggesting he wanted to do so with the trophy in hand.

“She is not the person that likes big parties. She doesn’t like it. She likes private things. So I will respect these decisions,” Ronaldo had said about their wedding plans.

The 41-year-old five-time Ballon d’Or winner remains a key figure for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League and recently confirmed that the 2026 World Cup would be his last. He also became the first player to score at six different editions of the World Cup.
