For over a month, international football captivated the globe, producing unforgettable moments, stunning upsets, incredible comebacks and endless action. But as the dust settles on the tournament, attention quickly shifts back to club football.

With the World Cup hangover still lingering, fans barely have time to catch their breath before Europe's top five leagues return for the 2026-27 season, bringing the world's biggest stars back to their familiar battlegrounds as supporters once again don their club colours.

The action begins in Spain, where La Liga kicks off on August 15 with Alavss hosting Getafe.

A week later, the English Premier League, Ligue 1 and Serie A all get underway on August 22. Arsenal open their league campaign at home against Coventry, while Marseille entertain Strasbourg in France.

Italy's new season also begins that day, with Udinese taking on Como and defending champions Inter Milan hosting Monza.

Germany completes the return of Europe's top leagues as the Bundesliga kicks off on August 29, with Bayern Munich welcoming Stuttgart.
