Hamza raring to go against Vietnam
Hamza Choudhury said he is ready for Bangladesh’s upcoming assignments in Vietnam after arriving in Hanoi on Tuesday to join the rest of the squad.
The Leicester City midfielder reached the Vietnamese capital on Tuesday afternoon and took part in training as Bangladesh continued their preparations for the year’s opening international fixtures.
Bangladesh will face Vietnam in a FIFA international friendly on Thursday before travelling to Singapore for their final AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers fixture on March 31.
In a video message shared by the Bangladesh Football Federation, Hamza said he was looking forward to the matches despite the long journey from England.
“Overall, we are all doing well. I’m excited to train with the team tomorrow and then play the game. I’m feeling good and, InShaAllah, I’ll be fit and ready to go,” said the 28-year-old midfielder.
Hamza recently returned to competitive action after spending around five weeks on the sidelines with an injury he suffered while playing for Leicester City in a Championship match against Charlton Athletic at the end of January.
The Bangladesh team had reached Vietnam on January 21 and had already had two training sessions before the star midfielder arrived.
