Four collect nomination papers for top post in Mohammedan SC polls

Four candidates -- Barkat Ullah Bulu, Joynal Abedin Faruque, Sajed AA Adel and Shawkat Aziz Russel – today bought nomination papers to run for the president’s post in the upcoming Mohammad SC Ltd elections on March 9.

Of the four candidates, only Barkat Ullah bought nomination solely for the president’s post while the remaining three also purchased nominations for directorship.

The other notable candidates for directorship are -- Lokman Hossain Bhuiyan, Mahbub Ul Alam, Khairul Kabir Khokon, Enayet Hossain Siraj, Eng Kabir Ahmed Bhuiyan,  Masuduzzaman, Mostafa Kamal, MA Salam, Rummon Bin Wali Sabbir, Sayed Hasan Kanon, Amirul Islam Babu, Mirza Yeasin Abbas, and Zakir Hossain Chowdhury.

Some 271 delegates will cast their votes to elect a president and 16 directors.

Candidates are scheduled to submit their nomination papers by March 1.

The deadline for withdrawal of candidature is on March 3 and the final list of candidates will be published on March 4.
