Dhaka to host SAFF Championship from Nov 4-17

Dhaka will host the 15th SAFF Championship from November 4 to 17, the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) confirmed in a press release on Sunday.

The region's premier international football tournament will return to Bangladesh for the first time since 2018, with all SAFF member associations expected to take part.

As part of the countdown to the championship, the official logo will be unveiled in Dhaka on July 25, while the tournament draw will be held in Thimphu, Bhutan, on August 1.

 

 

“We are absolutely delighted to announce the dates and venue for the SAFF Championship 2026,” SAFF General Secretary Purushottam Kattel was quoted as saying in the press release.

“This tournament holds a special place in our hearts, having created countless memorable moments for football fans across South Asia over the years.

“With the FIFA World Cup 2026 just concluded, this announcement comes at an exciting time for football enthusiasts across the region. Bangladesh's confirmation as the host is particularly exciting in light of the rapidly growing interest in football across the country. We look forward to Bangladesh delivering a grand and successful event that will leave a lasting impression on players and fans alike.”
