We can finish strongly, says Soumya

Bangladesh opener, Soumya Sarkar talked to the reporters today as he along with the team hope to come back in the third match of the three match ODI series against Sri Lanka, to salvage some pride after already losing the three match ODI series with two consecutive defeats.

"It is true we lost the series, but we will definitely come back in the last match as we hope we can finish strongly." said Soumya.

Bangladesh was humiliated in the first ODI as magnificent performances by Lasith Malinga with the ball and Kusal Perera with the bat for Sri Lanka meant the hosts won by a huge margin of 91 runs. The visitors faced the same fate in the second ODI as Sri Lanka also won the match by seven wickets to clinch the series with one match remaining.

Soumya's form has been a great concern for the Tigers as he could not capitalize on the start he got in matches. His 33 against India in the World Cup was his best in his last ten matches. However, according to Soumya, he is working on it and hoped to find a solution to the problem as soon as possible.

"It's been ten matches and I haven't been able to contribute much. This makes me feel bad. I am still trying, doing extra practices to find out why I can't score big. I played well in the three matches before these ten matches. I am working on these. I am meditating and solving all my personal problems too so that I can come back strong." said the opener.

"Many a times I am getting out by a good ball, sometimes by my mistake. There will be good days and bad ones. If I scored good runs a few times and then did not score in the other few, then I would still have my confidence. If I score runs in two three games, I will have my confidence back. If I am near to cricket, I feel like I will have the confidence." concluded the 26-year old batsman.
