Tamim, Liton appeal for helping Sitakunda fire victims

Star Sports Report

Bangladesh cricketers including Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das have urged everyone to stand by and help those affected by the fire and blast at container terminal in Sitakunda, Chattogram on Saturday night.

The fire and subsequent blasts have so far claimed 37 lives and injuring hundreds, with the death toll rising by the hour.

While Tamim is currently in Bangladesh, Litton is enjoying his vacation in England. Both batters are expected to board a flight for West Indies for the month-long tour soon. They shared a common message on their social media accounts, saying:

"I would like to request all the voluntary organisations in Chittagong to stay at Chittagong Medical College. There was a terrible explosion at the container depot in Sitakunda. The number of casualties is high, a lot of blood is needed.

"Please go there now if you can afford it, your one bag of blood might save a life. Ask your acquaintances to go there too.

"Human is for humanity."
