Simmons announces retirement from international cricket
West Indies batter Lendl Simmons on Monday called time on his international career that spanned almost 16 years.
Simmons's agency shared a post on Instagram where it said that the batter sent out a letter to Cricket West Indies (CWI) to announce his retirement.
Simmons made his international debut way back in 2008 in an ODI against Pakistan at Faisalabad. Thereafter, he made his T20I and Test debuts in 2007 and 2009 respectively.
His last international game was during the ICC T20 World Cup last year against South Africa in Dubai.
In 8 Tests, 68 ODIs and 68 T20Is, the right-handed batter scored 278, 1958 and 1527 runs respectively, with the help of two centuries and 25 half-centuries.
