Rana rips through Karachi as Peshawar seal record win
Peshawar Zalmi rode on a devastating spell from Nahid Rana to hammer Karachi Kings by 159 runs -- the biggest win ever by margin of runs in the tournament -- in their Pakistan Super League (PSL) clash in Karachi on Thursday.
Defending a daunting 246, Rana tore through the middle order of Karachi with searing pace, finishing with remarkable figures of 3 for 7 in four overs to help bundle them out for a mere 87 in 16.1 overs.
Rana picked the wickets of Saad Baig (14 off 11), Khushdil Shah (10 off 14) and Adam Zampa (0). The latter two wickets came in the 14th over of the innings, which was also a maiden over.
Bangladesh pacer Shoriful Islam also had a decent outing for Peshawar, picking up one wicket for 23 runs in three overs.
Earlier, Kusal Mendis hit a splendid 52-ball 109 and Babar Azam hit an unbeaten 87 off 51 balls to power Peshawar to a massive total.
