Hassan elected BCB president again
The official results of the Bangladesh Cricket Board's (BCB) Board of Directors' elections were announced today and as anticipated, Nazmul Hassan has been elected as the president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for the fourth time in a row.
It, however, will be Hassan's third time as the full-term president.
The unofficial results were announced after the polls yesterday. A total of 16 councilors were elected through the elections and, as expected, it was Hassan who got the most votes. He clinched 53 of the 57 votes from category 2 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Club category.
The newly elected directors sat for a meeting after the BCB election commission officially announced the results today.
Hassan came as an interim president for the first time in 2012. He got elected as the president in the following year for a longer period. Later on, in 2017 he became BCB President in an uncontested election.
Chattogram Division's elected director A J M Nasir proposed Hassan as the president of the board on Thursday afternoon. The proposal was held up by Golam Dastagir Gazi and Enayet Husain Siraj as none of the directors opposed it.
