Bangladesh paceman Mustafizur Rahman is set to be the first Bangladesh player to feature in England's franchise league The Hundred after getting snapped up by Birmingham Phoenix at the base price of £100k in the Hundred 2026 auctions on Thursday.

Earlier in the day, Bangladesh leg-spinner Rishad Hossain went unsold. The eight-team tournament is set to begin on July 21 with the final on August 16.

Mustafizur and Rishad were the only Bangladesh players to enter the auction list while 21 other Bangladeshi players who had registered for the draft did not make the list.

Mustafizur had been assigned the highest base price among the Bangladesh contingent at £100,000, while Rishad carried the second-highest base price of £75,000.

Rishad was named in Tier 1 spinners’ list alongside Akeal Hosein, AM Ghazanfar, Usman Tariq, Jafer Chohan. Pakistan's Usman was snapped up by Birmingham Phoenix for £140k. Ghazanfar pulled out of the auctions on Wednesday, Akeal went unsold while Jafer went to Welsh Fire for £35k.

Mustafizur was listed under the Longlist category. He was taken from the third and final stage of the auctions where individual teams were invited to nominate players, with each nomination effectively acting as a base-price bid.
