Mashrafe seeks time to decide on his future

Star Online Report

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Nazmul Hassan announced the appointment of Russell Domingo as the new head of Bangladesh cricket team during a press conference in Mirpur today. Nazmul also cleared the air about the future of skipper Mahrafe Bin Mortaza.

BCB was planning to host a lone ODI against Zimbabwe either between the Test and tri-nation series or following the two series to give Mashrafe a grand farewell, but nothing was decided.

However, the BCB president informed today that they have given Mashrafe a two-month period to make a decision on the matter after the skipper had asked for it.

"We talked to Mahrafe about the matter and he has asked us to give him two months to make a decision on the matter. The board has allowed him the time to decide." said Nazmul.

The captain has had a World Cup to forget as his bowling performances have brought in large criticism. Regardless of his performances in the World Cup, Mashrafe has been a vital element in building the team. BCB is also eager to give the beloved cricketer a proper send-off.
