Liton attains career-best Test ranking
Liton Das attained career-best rankings in Tests after remaining instrumental with the bat in Bangladesh's recent two-Test tour of New Zealand.
Liton, who notched his second Test ton in the final match of the tour, moved up 17 places to 15 in the rankings with 683 rating points.
The elegant right-hander also scored 86 in the only innings that he batted in the first Test against the Kiwis. He scored a total of 196 runs in the series.
Liton, in fact, has been amongst runs in Tests for a while, yielding runs at an average of 54 in his last 10 innings.
Two other Bangladesh batters also made significant leaps in the batting rankings. Skipper Mominul Haque, who scored a total of 138 runs in the series against New Zealand, moved up eight places to 37th while Najmul Hossain Shanto moved 21 places to 87.
In the bowling department, Ebadot Hossain, hero of Bangladesh's historic win in the first Test against New Zealand, progressed 17 places to 88. He scalped a total of nine wickets in the series, including his career-best six for 46 in the second innings of the first Test.
Young left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam also moved 34 places to 104th.
