Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Faruque Ahmed asked for patience in regards to chaos of attaining BPL tickets. The BCB president inaugurated the 11th edition of the franchise tournament today at Mirpur before the opening match between Fortune Barishal and Durbar Rajshahi.

Unable to get match tickets, fans broke BCB's main gate earlier today before the start of the match.

BCB president talked to the official broadcasters during the opening ceremony.

"Can't say at the moment but let the games take the field. I want the games to take place properly which is the important thing. Before that, we have tried to do something in this new Bangladesh and hoping to take that forward through this BPL," the BCB president said when asked about how exciting the tournament is going to be.

Faruque also called on everyone concerned from fans to the media alike to not listen to rumours and have patience.

"We have gotten great response with tickets. First we went on sale online. What I want to say to all is that in any system there are some flaws at the beginning. So please have patience and don't listen to rumours. After seven days this will be clearer and understood by all and everyone will reap the benefits," he said before requesting fans with online tickets to maintain discipline in the ticket lines.

The confusion over tickets has seen two days of crowd troubles in the stadium area.

Earlier on Sunday, BCB had informed that tickets will not be available on ticket booths near the stadium. Tickets were to be available online and at specific Modhumoti Bank's branches. Crowd troubles started after fans were not able to get tickets at the bank's branches.
