Bangladesh name unchanged squad for first two NZ ODIs

Star Sports Report

Bangladesh announced an unchanged 15-man squad from last month's Pakistan series for the first two ODIs of their upcoming three-match home series against New Zealand today.

This is the first squad announced by the newly formed national selection committee headed by Habibul Bashar, and in its first assignment, it seemingly chose to play it safe by sticking to the same squad that won 2-1 against Pakistan.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz, whose contract as ODI captain was recently extended till the 2027 ICC ODI World Cup, will lead the side.

Players like Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam, Nahid Rana, Rishad Hossain and Tanzid Hasan Tamim, who are currently taking part in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), have been called up in the squad.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had issued them a No Objection Certificate for PSL till April 12 and they will all return for the New Zealand ODIs, which will begin on April 17.
