Sheikh Jamal down Kalabagan by 73 runs
Shiekh Jamal Dhanmondi defeated Kalabagan Krira Chakra by 73 runs in the Dhaka Premier League match at Fatullah today.
Rakin Ahmed and Pinak Ghosh were involved in a 121-run partnership for the second wicket before Tanbir Hayder struck an unbeaten 60-ball 61 to take Sheikh Jamal to 263 before they were eventually bowled out in the 50th over with one ball remaining. Rakin top-scored with a 78-ball 71 while Pinak fell for 49.
Despite half-centuries form Taibur Rahman and Muktar Ali, Kalabagan were bowled out for 190 runs as Elias Sunny bagged four wickets to hand victory to Sheikh Jamal.
Rupganj vs Brothers Union
Legends of Rupganj defeated Brothers Union by seven wickets as Abdul Majid struck an 110-ball 94 with five fours and seven sixes at Savar.
Batting first, Brothers were bowled out for 178 as Mohammad Shahid and Asif Hasan bagged four wickets each. Opener Mizanur Rahman had given Brothers a solid start with a 58-ball 63, an innings that contained 10 fours and two sixes but there were no other notable performers with the bat for Brothers.
In reply, Rupganj chased down the target in just 37.3 overs and with seven wickets in hand.
Khelghar vs Mohammedan
In another match at Dhaka's Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Khelaghar defeated Mohammedan by six wickets.
Opener Jony Talukdar hit 55 after Mohammedan had won the toss and elected to bat first but Tanvir Islam bagged four wickets to restrict Mohammedan to just 181all-out.
Amit Majumder struck 76 while Al Menaria remained unbeaten on 54 as Khelaghar completed the chase in 41.3 overs.
