Tigers fined for slow over-rate in first ODI against Sri Lanka

Bangladesh have been fined for slow over-rate during their first ODI against Sri Lanka at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Friday.

Chris Broad of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees imposed the fine after Bangladesh were ruled to be two overs short of its target in the allocated time.

According to the article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, players are fined 10 percent of their match fees for every over their side fail to bowl in the allocated time with the captain being fined double of that amount.

As a result, Bangladesh stand-in skipper Tamim Iqbal was fined 40 percent of his match fees while the other members of the team received a 20 percent fine.
