Tamim’s encouragement, Fizz’s example guide Saifuddin

It was a pressure scenario in the match when all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin was asked to bowl the last over with Dhaka Dynamites needing 13 runs for victory. The bowler responded by giving his side Comilla Victorians a narrow victory and later spoke of how senior player Tamim Iqbal kept him calm.

Andre Russell was on strike as Saifuddin ran up to bowl the last delivery. The previous delivery had been hit for six and another one would have given Dhaka exactly what they needed to win the game. Saifuddin's yorker worked. Tamim was seen giving him encouragement after every delivery.

"There was one of world' top big-hitter in Andre Russell. I had bowled against him before and was hit for six. I had the belief today that I can do it. Thanks to Tamim bhai who was giving me courage every ball," Saifuddin said.

Not all plans go well, but Saifuddin, wanting to make a mark in the BPL to remain in the national side frame, said that he drew inspiration from Mustafizur Rahman. Fizz had earlier played a hand in defending a small target with his death over brilliance against a strong Rangpur Riders team.

"Biggest thing is that Mustafizur won a match against Rangpur that day and I felt that he is the same age as me, so if he can do it then why not me? I kept that in mind while bowling and was able to get success," he concluded.
