Taijul fastest to 100 Test wickets for Tigers

Taijul Islam became the fastest to the mark of 100 Test wickets among Bangladesh bowlers after bagging the wicket of Ihsanullah in the early morning session of the one-off Test between Bangladesh and Afghanistan at Chattogram's Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium today.

Taijul, playing in his 25th Test, bettered the records set by current Test skipper Shakib Al Hasan and former left-arm spinner Mohammad Rafique, who reached the mark of 100th Test wickets in their 28th and 33rd match respectively.

Having got the first breakthrough, he then went on to bag the scalp of Ibrahim Zadran to become the second-highest wicket-taker for Bangladesh in Test cricket with 101 wickets. Shakib is the only one in front of him with 205 wickets while former cricketer Mohammad Rafique –third in the list -- has 100 wickets to his name.
