Rossouw and Hales author record-filled innings

Alex Hales and Rilee Rossouw raised a storm today and Chattogram bowlers were helpless in front of such madness as Rangpur Riders posted a record 239 runs on the board against Chittagong Vikings -- the highest total by a side in the Bangladesh Premier League.

The duo sang their own duet, both picking up tons in a masterful display of strokemaking. Hales played a colourful array of shots during his 48-ball 100 during a 174-run partnership with Rossouw – the third highest partnership in BPL history, with 11 fours and five sixes. Hales fell but Rossouw continued his domination, picking up his ton in 51 deliveries with eight fours and six sixes. Such was the domination from these two batters that the timeline between the beginning and end of their partnership had seen both Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers fall to scores of 1, Abu Jayed getting both their scalps but it did not matter at the slightest.

A handsome crowd was present for both of the day's matches and entertainment was not denied to them as the Chattogram leg started with a run feast. Hales and Rossouw's record-filled innings was the just the third time in T20s that two batters have struck ton in an innings while it was the first time that it had happened in the BPL.
