Farhad to replace injured Mashrafe for SL tour
Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza suffered injury during the last day of training today with the Tigers set to depart for Sri Lanka tomorrow for a three-match ODI series. BCB chief selector Minhajul Abedin later confirmed that Farhad Reza has been included in the side as Mashrafe's replacement.
During a press conference today before the practice session began, the skipper reiterated that he was feeling quite okay but then during a bowling session, he suffered what appeared to be a hamstring injury.
"He pulled his hamstring during training today. We are yet to receive the medical report but at the moment it looks difficult for him to play in the series. We have decided to include Farhad Reza as his replacement," Minhajul confirmed to The Daily Star.
Bangladesh star opener Tamim Iqbal has been named the captain for the Sri Lanka tour.
