Dominant Tigresses through to WWT20
The Bangladesh women's cricket team qualified for their second successive Women's World Twenty20 (WWT20) in dominant fashion by defeating their Irish counterparts by four wickets in the semifinals of the World T20 Qualifiers in Dundee, Scotland.
Sanjida Islam hit an unbeaten 32 to take the Tigresses past Ireland's sub-par total of 85 all out with nine balls to spare. Bangladesh have remained undefeated so far in the qualifiers.
Earlier, after Ireland won the toss and chose to field, Bangladesh leg-spinner Fahima Khatun did the most damage by picking up three wickets for 18 runs in four overs. It was a perfect bowling display from the Tigresses as all the other bowlers – Jahanara Alam, Nahida Akter, skipper Salma Khatun and Ritu Moni – got a wicket each from their four overs as Ireland were bowled out off the last ball of the innings.

The final will be held on September 7.
