Bangladesh U-23s thrash Pakistan to reach semifinal

Bangladesh under-23 side secured their place in the semifinals of the ACC Emerging Teams Cup Asia, beating their Pakistan counterparts by 84 runs in the must-win final game of Group B at the National Stadium in Karachi today.

Electing to bat, Bangladesh posted a mammoth 309 for five, thnaks to an unbeaten 74-ball 85 from Mosaddek Hossain and 56 off 45 deliveries from Yasir Ali.

In reply, the hosts were bundled out for 225 in 46.5 overs. Young spinner Nayeem Hasan took three wickets for 36 runs.

Bangladesh will face India Group A champions in the first semifinal of the tournament on December 13 at the Colombo Cricket Club Ground in Sri Lanka.
