- 12 Razakars are killed as Mukti Bahini led by Platoon Commander Ayyub Ali and Section Commander Amzad Hossain at Mallikbari Pak Base in Bhaluka, Mymensingh.
- Mukti Bahini shells on Raghunathpur Pak Base at Bongaon sub-sector in Sector No. 8. Pak troops however did not respond to the attack.
- Mukti Bahini attacks Maheshkandi Pak Base at Shikarpur sub-sector in Sector No. 8 with 2 inch mortars and SLRs. In retaliation, Pak raiders fires 3 inch mortars and MMG rounds. Pak side faces five casualties. The freedom fighters return to their base safely.
- Freedom fighter guerrillas destroy Barunia and Bhaber Char bridges on Dhaka-Daudkandi highway. Dhaka-Comilla road connection is halted.
- Bangladesh Mission is inaugurated in New Delhi, India.
- “India has to fight a full geared war,” President Yahya Khan tells in an interview with La Figaro, a French magazine. “Only a few border sectors are experiencing battles, except that, the entire country is under military jurisdiction,” he adds.
- CMLA Yahya reconstructs Military Order No. 77 and enacts section 89. It said that nobody could spread rumors or criticize the military junta that might hurt the integrity of Pakistan.
- Military administration of Dhaka order Mozaffar Ahmad Chowdhury, Abdur Razzak, Sarwar Murshed from Dhaka University, Mazharul Islam from Rajshahi University, Abu Zafar Shamsuddin from Bangla Academy and 13 other CSP officers to appear before the martial court.
