Zia’s award: BNP to protest Saturday
In reaction to the removal of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman’s Swadhinata Padak from the National Museum, the party will stage countrywide protest on Saturday.
BNP’s Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced of holding protests across all districts in a press briefing at their Nayapaltan headquarters today.
Bangladesh government removed the Swadhinata Padak of Zia from the museum yesterday. BNP had been hinting at “government plans to rip Zia of the award.”
“The incident is the worst decision in Bangladesh’s political history,” Fakhrul said today. “This will intensify the crisis and help propagate politics of vengeance.”
