Satkhira BCL leader found dead
Police today recovered the body of a local leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) in Sadar upazila of Satkhira.
Informed by locals, the law enforcers recovered the body of Hasibul Hasan Emon, 25, joint secretary of district unit BCL, from a shrimp enclosure at Amtola Beel under Dhulihor union in the upazila around 11:00am, our Satkhira correspondent reports quoting police.
Law enforcers identified the body based on information they obtained from a mobile phone they found from the victim, said Firoz Hossain Mollah, officer-in-charge (OC) of Sadar Police Station.
Emon, son of Sheikh Iqbal Hassan from Sultanpur in district town, was a final year honours student of Khulna Commerce College.
Tanvir Hossain, president of the district unit BCL, confirmed about Emon’s political affiliation.
Police suspect that unknown assailants left the body after they choked the victim to death, the OC said.
No injury mark was found on the body but there was blood coming out of the victim’s mouth, he added.
Sheikh Rimon Hossain, younger brother of Emon, said he could not say when his brother went out of the house last night, adding that he last talked with his brother around 9:30pm.
