Political parties should show sportsman spirit: President

Stressing the need for mutual trust and confidence in democracy, President Abdul Hamid today said all political parties should take the election with “sportsman spirit”.

Hamid said this during his talks with a delegation of Workers Party of Bangladesh at Bangabhaban in Dhaka this afternoon on formation of the new Election Commission.

Welcoming Workers Party’s delegation, the president said there are similarities on some matters that different political parties have shared with him during the talks.

Hamid has so far held dialogues with BNP, Jatiya Party, LDP, Krishok Sramik Janata League and Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal since he started the dialogue initiative on December 18.
